Overview Shargia Cricket Club is proud to organize "3rd Shargia Sixteen 16 Champions Trophy 2010". Our aim to organize such event is to spread the game to emerging enthusiast (cricketers) and to create competition between all cricket playing nations living in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.
The first tournament, labeled as the "starter for big events", was staged in Al-Yum Ground during March 26 – April 23, 2009. Three teams participated in the inaugural tournament and all matches were played in daylight. We witnessed some marvelous cricket from Shargia 11 and G.C.C Riders but in the end M.D. XI were the CHAMPIONS of the tournament.
The second tournament was organized in a more professional way in which eight teams participated. Amongst them Saudi-redimex grabbed the CHAMPIONS trophy and Kanoo 11 remained the runner ups. The other participating teams were: M.D. XI, Shargia XI, Z-FORCE, SESCO, G.C.C & Shuwayer 11. The final's presentation ceremony was honored by: Mr. Khalid Baghdadi, Managing Director of Saudi ReadMIX and Mr. Karim Gurani, Predisent, Kanoo Sports Club.
Now, the Shargia Cricket Club is all set to organize a mini World Cup of SHARGIA, titled as:
3rd SHARGIA Sixteen 16 Champions Trophy 2010
The format will be almost same as that of the previous tournament*. Teams will be divided into two groups. In the First Phase of "Round Matches", each group team will play matches among themselves. The first three teams of each group will then participate in "Super Sixes" by carrying their previous points. The top four teams will participate in the "Semi Finals" followed by "FINAL".
Shargia Cricket Club (S.C.C) would be pleased to have your active participation with hope to have a great time in this tournament by some excellent cricket and extravaganza. All the teams will be assigned with a color code which would be the color of their playing kits*. Organizers will be providing a service for printing each team kits* respective of their colors. Teams can use any color of trousers. However, organizer can arrange special type of trousers with printing on request.
Participation Fee: S.R. 350 Only (Tournament Fee) S.R. 650 Only (Kits Charges)
Participation Benefits: Team’s logo will be published on tournament website. Player's information and record will be updated on tournament website. Tapes & Balls will be provided. Water or Juices will be provided. Prizes will be awarded as Winning Trophy, Runner –up, Best Batsmen, Best Bowler, Player of the Series & Best Umpires with Cash Prizes*. All the records will be maintained and given to the team, if requested. The tournament will be facilitated with snapshots & video shots.
Iam Riyas Residing near Farm 5, DOHA, DAHARAN. We are usually playing cricket in Fridays after 4.00 PM. Any one want to paly cricket with our guys, you are always welcome.
